ABOUT

Since retiring in 2020 from a career as a clinical psychologist I have occupied myself full time in my practice as a photographer and completed an MA in Photography with Falmouth University in the UK in 2023.

Based in Cork, Ireland, my practice spans a variety of subject areas but all the projects I have worked on are guided by my belief that, when we view a photograph, the representation of the world and our personal memories and associations are complexly and inextricably intertwined – ‘Photographs are like mini hauntings’ (Proust, 1957).

A constant theme of my work has been the exploration of the ways in which memory, imagination and our perception of reality interweave.

My images have been included in group exhibitions at Black Box Gallery in Portland, Oregon (Shadow and Light, March 2023), the Praxis Gallery in Minneapolis (The Still Life, April 2023, and The Shadow Aspect, May 2023) and Decode Gallery, Tucson (Square, April 2024) and I have had work exhibited in the Royal Hibernian Acadamy annual exhibition in 2024.
